Facebook banned Holocaust denial. It's still there. Facebook also said it would redirect people searching for Holocaust denial to factual information. That doesn't seem to be happening. New story by

Last year Facebook’s researchers asked to end a “whitelist” of over 100K politicians exempt from fact-checking, arguing that it was “protecting content that is especially likely to deceive.”

  6. This is the correct take about Fox’s shameful pushing of Seth Rich’s family. That advertisers were still willing to do business with this network after this chapter is unbelievable.

We don’t spend enough time talking about how Fox News terrorized the Rich family.

"YouTube says it does not consider OANN an authoritative news source." ... old enough to remember when Google testified to that "the algorithms did it" when Russia Today was booted from YouTube Preferred many months after the US Intelligence Report cited it.

  13. Oh lord. Yet another example of not only screwing advertisers, but publishers as well. How can an outlet like maintain factual credibility when they’re advertising merchandise for the largest conspiracy theory in the world?

The idea that tech companies have no control over how their products are used comes from the dated concept that tech is somehow neutral. It also doesn't jibe well with how the tech industry has spent millions restricting how their tech is used through licensing and digital locks

Interesting though I don’t know what “bad for the world” means, exactly. Would I say content about hospitals overwhelmed by COVID was “bad for the world”? Yes! Do I think it’s important that it’s widely shared? Also yes!
