Idly wondering how setting goals (or not) on framework adoption affects development of the framework itself. E.g. What would React do differently if optimizing for adoption, or Polymer if they weren’t?

Polymer is definitely not driven primarily by adoption goals, and it's pretty obvious from where I'm sitting that React isn't either. Both projects primarily serve other purposes – React to meet FB engineering needs, and Polymer to help advance Chrome's web platform vision.

Curious if you think Polymer can do an effective job of advancing that vision without gaining adoption.
