Right, but I believe that the problem is that Livermore wants a full BART line without rezoning. That’s unacceptable IMO.

This is not accurate. The Livermore City Council will tonight consider the Isabel Neighborhood Specific Plan, a 4100 unit TOD with 25% affordable goal. This is a substantial upzoning that the Council has signaled would only go forward with a full BART extension, not BRT.

And vice versa: Edwardian Hackney was an extremely fashionable neighbourhood… so much so that its wealthy denizens militantly opposed opening a tube station there: the riffraff might visit! Result: it deteriorated into one of the most deprived boroughs in modern London.
