Hmmmm....if you get strong developer demand for a thing and you're the first to implement, there's definitionally nobody using it yet...but perhaps still worth doing?

It was more in the context of spending lots of time on something no one uses eventually IIRC - if there's demand you would tell them you did it after you implemented it, wouldn't you? :)

Well, we could very easily do it wrong (and historically have!) That's why we've tried to do these sorts of things in collaboration with developers (e.g., at WICG) and run experiments to validate the design (Origin Trials: https://www.chromium.org/blink/origin-trials …)
