The author argues that economic and democratic insecurity is contributing to gun ownership. You don't agree with this? (Honest question). It makes sense to me but I don't know if it is dominant.

Agree insecurity drives fear which drives division and perhaps gun ownership. I just don't agree the price we pay in blood is worth it. I'd rather we address sources of insecurity -- which, intertemporally, involves the % of folks w/ access to efficient killing devices.
