Agreed. Any trend data without some real zooming in, followed up by solid segmentation is misleading at best.

Reading the TechCrunch article tells me native app revenues increased mostly due to more people cutting the chord and personal assistants, increasing demand for high value video and audio subscriptions services. All of which are available via the web ;)
