Would love your thoughts on the cultural aspects. It seems nobody thinks they can afford ethical self-restraint, let alone push to institutionalise it; why is that?

I’m pondering the lack of comprehension for consequences. People who’ve never acted with restraint before but never experienced a failure that set them back (that couldn’t be overcome with privilege.) Less they can’t “afford” ethics, more a life experience that it won’t matter?
