What the *smoosh* happened to Array#flatten?! Why is everyone talking about MooTools? Why doesn’t TC39 just break the Web?

I guess my point is one you're happy to make: TC39 as lang governing body conflates The Web with the ES lang. Whereas One Javascript is a lang principle, One Web as the position of a lang body seems to couple the lang to one prioritized client, rather than offer a contract to all

Languages are not neutral computational instruments; they are of, for, and by people. And people come in different "lumps". The web constituency is, for many reasons, the weightiest in JS development. You can wish it weren't so...but it is.

In most situations I deeply appreciate the "dont break the web" sensibility, & these guidelines are great. But the way it is being used today feels like it is being used to trample those who feel MooTools 1.2 broke JS the language with it's slipshod monkeypatching of core JS.

The unwillingness of "dont break the web" advocates to acknowledge or recognize these pleas- that this is a very different case than usual- feels so wounding & aggravating. * MooTools 1.2 broke JS * Anyone monkeying /w the primitives of JS objects accepts a higher responsibility
