Somewhat off-topic: using React I've loved being able to forget the difference between properties and attributes. Re-learning has been one of the pains of getting back into WC, I wish we could make this simpler

We spent a lot of time at the start of the Parkour project swearing at Netscape and IBM for screwing this up (MSFT did it more-or-less right in IE4 DOM). My hope is that some day we can agree on a canonical lifecycle & location for prop/attr backing storage.

Attrs had a nearly 1:1 relationship to properties. "Standard DOM" broke it in many ways (incl attr nodes and expanded set of broken setter/getter names)
