What part of my work over the past decade gives you the feeling I think in 1-year increments?

My question wasn't intended to be so personal. I understand you work at Google; arguably the biggest tech co. My question was more like, given the same principle economic constraints, why can Google plan longer term? Or does it also plan in 1 year cycles?
