Devtools over chrome:inspect should let you see what's being stored. I'm curious if they're just not pruning caches.

Thanks for the information. According to our early assessment we're seeing such surge only chrome 63. Chrome 62 and lower versions don't have the issue. We're digging still and will update.

I think there is a change in Chrome 63 on how it calculates storage numbers. Check screen recording of FKLite. After clearing complete storage, it has come down to KBs. Once I start scrolling the page, number increases to 500mb by the time I reach endhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKRmRFocfCY …

If I observe the network panel, total data transferred over the wire to load complete page is in KBs but storage value increased to 500+MB. I think, storage is started counting amount of RAM consumed too. In older version of chrome, this number never crossed 8MB on fresh install
