...and it's almost always better to just make your system go faster to get under the bar than to add more complexity.

Another important point here is that per-component costs are lower when you're not paying all the VDOM/diffing overhead.

WebComponents don't compose very well either. Too much of manual wiring is needed everytime we use them ...

For instance if I have to create a password validation component. The following looks so easy to consume. Its declarative + composablepic.twitter.com/YlPsTkCSof

though above is technically possible using shadowdom, intercomm between the child and parent is going to be a mess.

not a mess; it's just events that you document. Events up, data down. It's the same basic thing as you get with other systems, but portable

s/mess/manual It's manual work you have to do. Can add frameworks, but then we're back to using frameworks instead of just "the platform"

*it's just events*. You don't need a framework if you don't want one. Anyway, my point *isn't* "don't use a framework". That's a strawman

Sure. My only point is that most people will want (borderline need) a fw for app development. "Just events" scales horribly for large apps.

you compose apps out of components. Events-up/data-down scales really well.

Right agree. I was imprecise—manually managed events scales poorly. Events up/Data down is basically React, w/ event plumbing done *for you*
