I don't post traces of sites that don't request public perf audits; will just say that most popular tools are demonstrably unfit for mobile.

I applaud that work. However, improving mobile web perf can also be seen as a rich persons problem. Smart phone possession is low globally

SMS or WAP (gasp!) based interfaces would likely have bigger impact on the poorest set of people who possess phones (incl. non-smartphones)

Many problems have related problems? I observe most teams doing *neither* base-tech (SMS) access *nor* usable perf for mainline service.
