It's not surprising when rich people only solve rich people problems because: 1. They're aware of them. 2. Rich customers have money.

My crusade is to get DevTools to enable throttling by default as soon as you enter device mode. You would not believe the push-back.

That would help a little. But ages ago you mentioned just cutting off the assets after a certain threshold has been passed. Has that been push-backed as well? Suppose so.

.@ojanvafai was investigating; on a 2G connection we should absolutely prompt users with a "do you wish to continue?" dialog for obese pages

Also really need to get DevTools to simulate packet loss. Current upper-speed-limit simulation doesn't reveal all problems.

You can't do that without real link conditioning, and that's not something Chrome can easily do.

Can you invent "IE6Frame" for Chrome, that randomly uses IE6's Trident throttled to 2G for whole day for anyone who's ever opened devtools?

Any plans to make devtools throttling more realistic when it comes to H2 push?

How about anyone who visits stackoverflow gets throttled for 30m so they have to experience it themselves for all of the web
