WC is a huge undertaking. Like ServiceWorkers et al. The latter got priority as was much more momentum there (inc. at Google)

The evangelism wasn't done with WC or there would be more adoption. Specs changed too. If you were in our shoes, PWA or WC first?

WC is very important for industries with long lived code bases (& no budget to migrate between frameworks every year)...

That is usually enterprise. I don't know any enterprise frameworks that use WC. Enterprise usually uses tech with long support history

Some enterprises that I know have been pretty burned by investing in the wrong framework, and would like to stay closer to the platform

The true power of WC to me is if frameworks and major providers like google maps widget or such adopt it, and can mix and match

With WC, you don't *need* a framework for 80% tasks. For the extra 'sugar', use e.g. https://github.com/PolymerLabs/lit-html … - why make things heavy?

Polymer is heavy. YT uses it and it takes 10s to load a page in FF and Edge. That is the definition of heavy

It's a lot faster in Chrome, not coincidentally, where polyfills aren't needed or loaded. Just sayin.

Well yeah because polymer is a polyfill
