True, but man it's still pretty turn key https://github.com/thejameskyle/react-loadable …

The last time I did a React developer survey, <10% of ~500 respondents identified they were code-splitting. Strong defaults could help here.

What kind of defaults are you suggesting? CRA doesn’t dictate how you do routing and doesn’t generate a “real”-ish project. Should we?

I'd be pretty happy if CRA prescribed a routing solution (most prod apps I see use React Router) + splitting by default. Would go a long way

And what if you want to use, say, Redux-First Router, or Junctions, or Redux-Tower, or anything else that's not React-Router?

I feel like there's very clashing visions for what CRA "should" be, and what behaviors it's intended to optimize for

From my perspective, CRA is meant as a _build_ solution, not an _app_ solution. Abstract build, so you can build app from scratch yourself.

And, playing interpreter here: the React team has stayed away from prescribing "chosen" libraries within the community.

Seems good! Just needs hazard labels applied in the right places so the predictable failures become less frequent.

I mean, it can't be fun for the React team and ecosystem to see so many apps that are totally unusable being made w/ their tech.
