If critical path requires auth + data, does splitting help me? https://unpkg.com/firebase@4.3.1/firebase-app.js … https://unpkg.com/firebase@4.3.1/firebase-database.js … https://unpkg.com/firebase@4.3.1/firebase-auth.js …

Hey
@mbleigh: what's the plan here?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Multiple attacks, but biggest effort is making SDK friendly for hyper-targeted requires to reduce weight.

What about providing a way to seed auth/data without the larger SDK? Maybe initial requests to the HTTP endpoints?

We have some early thoughts and explorations there, too, but nothing that's ready to talk about more than hand-waving.

Yeah we split Firebase into components but they are still larger than we'd like. Currently investigating how we can break apart the /1

Components into specific sections of the API. But as
@mbleigh said, nothing to show yet. But working on this literally right now :)1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

However, after addressing the payload issue we do need to pre-seed data doing something along the lines of what
@ebidel was mentioning.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

If you wanted to give me some feedback on ideas, I'd be happy to brain dump on what we are currently doing.

Indeed. I love how polyfill.io manages to serve only what's needed based on some caching smarts. Could imagine similar thing here.

Yeah not sure we'd be able to do what polyfill.io does, but allowing users to get ONLY what they need (esp. for critical path) is the goal.

But doing that while maintaining the SDK ergonomics is the tricky bit :)
