The firms they tend to be huge shareholders in or founders/managers of *aggressively* lobby against paying reasonable tax liabilities.

So the only functional mechanism you could imagine UBI deriving from (taxes) is being actively undermined by those who'd pay the most.

Agree that the politics of getting to UBI are tough. Corps and the rich fight against it. But I think we will get there via the ballot box

You could imagine federal/state lands doing similar duty for solar/wind placement rights.
