Something interesting is that the wealthy are split. Some are delusional enough to think the pitchfork events won't catch _them_ out...
The major difference there is that the money in that case is paid *directly* to public coffers; no tax indirection.

Which makes it easier to palate politically. It is a shame they destroy their environment for this benefit. Not a great model for anyone
