There's no 'style encapsulation' as such, because Shadow DOM takes document styles. Basically, it's not like an iframe.

      Oh, I see, you're looking for: css``` :host { all: initial; } ```

What parts of the shadow dom impl can't be achieved with a mix of the `all: initial ` property? i.e https://jsbin.com/xidomel/2/edit?html,output …

A few things jump out: - you had to use `.namespace *` which isn't what you really want - still have to fight to build local styles.

Taking into account that the namespace and reset could be generated by the css preprocessor, why would the first point be a problem?

Because now you assume you control the whole page's CSS. SD lets components isolate *themselves*.

Since `all:initial` resets styles affecting the component from outside of the component `.ns`, this should also apply to the example, right?

/and since the namespace is generated by the preprocessor, all selectors within the component should not affect the reset of the page.

*rest, In which case the isolation should be both inside-out, outside-in. Am i missing something?

Yes, you had to include those styles in the global where they can be mucked with. SD isolates you better (and again, is much faster)

Think about teams building/using these: when/where do they need to coordinate? How often?
