If your site has more than 500k of JS (uncompressed), you don't get to look down on "jQuery developers".
I'm just saying here that unlike wordstar, you have all of DOM, all of a layout engine, and a huge amount of infra *already there*.

Also, we HAVE good mechanisms for code splitting. HTML Imports are great for this! Shame about Mozilla... /cc
