Thank you for the clarification. At least for SW. Is the same true for WC specs? Those seemed to have a bad start

This is anecdote so take from it what you will, but I certainly implemented parts of the WC specs prior to Chrome shipping any of them.

Cool - but the first spec work still was mostly done from Google wasn't it? Took quite some time for others to join in AFAIR

Are you referring to WC? Or still discussing SWs? Different histories, similar openness, but had to work harder to show why WC needed.

With Show harder to show why needed you meant pushing other vendors to follow wasn't it?

You fundamentally misunderstand how web tech is made, it seems. Unilateral efforts fail.

Maybe - being sarcastic here... I see much to much increased bashing of not following vendors - this doesn't feel right to me.

Mostly one sometimes two and one non-vendor who decided to go with frameworks instead of new standards

Not sure that was as much of an intentional decision as you make it sound

Competition usually sorts this (in the long run). Mobile situation is unique; not in a good way.

The biggest problem with native app dev is the nuisance of App Store delivery. This could be made much simpler put still is a bit PITA

What about the lack of interoperability? People always cite RN for iOS/Android, but what about all the other platforms? Kinda a non-starter.
