That product was already #1 its category on desktop and they pivoted to native before PWA tech available. Big differences.

Being #1 in their market lowered aggregate costs in the pivot. You don't lose users (as much) in that situation; costs less.

Also, note that FB is now an early leader on PWA tech as well. HUGE web push volume, just hosted SW F2F standards meeting in Tokyo, etc.
