That post has so much FUD it does a great job hiding that point. Agree the URLs aren't great. Standards proposal, as you know, is incoming.

Is the only reason for the URLs to support serp prefetch and transition animation? Let amp focus on load performance and parse benefits?

Would be killer to have material cross site transitions for anyone to use, and that respected source URLs and didn't clobber browser nav ux.

I'm OK w AMP URLs as a convenient option. But where's the room for those OK with taking on burden of fast hosting? No room made.
