This is what I mean about not being able to afford the JS we include. Nobody marked this to market (how it performs on a real device).

So if this looks like your app -- a giant pile of JS -- and you think "server rendering" will get you out of jail, step away from the kbd.

These architectures harm users. They harm the web. They are not acceptable. Less JS, loaded better, is what we need now.

good argument. On the other hand, do you see a reduction on costs when we will have module system and ES6 in all browsers?

native module loading over http/2 would give devs and alternative to bundling JS

it's a mindset issue as well. We've been conditioned to minimize http roundtrips that we bundle all JS in one file

I'd argue that we pay too much bundling tax eventually and ruin all the benefits. 2 MB is not ok for an app

some apps are just complex and have lot's of code. React/webpack tooling needs to allow PRPL out of the box

: sorry mate, but the first half of that tweet is simply misdirection. 2.2MB for a login screen is pure

: it's fine to say we need to load it script better (ala PRPL). It's not OK to hide behind "but we might need a lot!"

: please do not enable poor this sort of behavior by excusing it. It's user-hostile.

ah ok, thanks for clearing that up. I totally agree. No reason for the login screen assets to be that big.
