I think addressing an issue with a more compassionate delivery would’ve been a bit better. Especially to the people outside of the React team, those who are also contributing to that open source and working hard to help deliver out of the kindness of their hearts

We don’t have to choose one or the other. If we can solve the problem of form inputs being stuck in the 90s then a huge number of mobile sites simply won’t need frameworks any more, just some even handlers and fetch() calls

That as the theory under which I helped design `fetch()`, ES6, WC, etc. etc. etc. I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but there is scant evidence that when an improved version becomes widely available it results in anything more than continued over-polyfilling.

Polyfills are one thing but we also need minification which hasn’t had a great ES6+ compatible tool for way too long. Now we have Terser but it’s not backed by any large company or a bigger team AFAIK. With problems like that, no wonder many teams give up & go a simpler route.
