I don't usually do this, but it's about public health and this site is getting a lot of press and HOLY !*#$ WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE REACT COMMUNITY!?: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/200419_RQ_7d92404e9fc558919d13effd65fde874/ …
Ok, so here's a timeline from that device but from a much slower (3G emulated) network: https://webpagetest.org/video/compare.php?tests=200419_E5_b0284226d2013d0377283defecde13df-r:3-c:0 … Content *looks* interactive at 6s (digging in). Concerned by very late long tasks that show up from the Maps JS tho: https://webpagetest.org/chrome/inspector-20190809/inspector.html?experiments=true&loadTimelineFromURL=/getTimeline.php?timeline=t:200419_E5_b0284226d2013d0377283defecde13df,r:3,c:0,s:1 …

Video side-by-side running to fully complete: https://webpagetest.org/video/view.php?id=200419_003928040d2c238002d802a3e0797a8e91e574e3 … Interactive map doesn't arrive on the news site until much later, but data table content is interactive from ~5s (vs ~15s).

I'll look into what we can do to break up the work from the maps widgets, but this is in *much* better shape than http://rt.live .

@shubhie might be relevant to our discussion of the cost of Maps. :) -
Yeah, the Maps bundle isn't great for that late task. Overall I'm impressed with how Boq does here; content is rendered and scrollable well before the 5s mark. If late tasks were chunked, I'd be a totally happy camper w/ this trace.
