Now that we're back to "maybe experts know things?!", perhaps it's time to admit that "full stack" was always a lie.

It's hard to keep experts for very long time though. Projects change in complexity and difficulty, so it's tempting to hire folks that can do a bit of everything as they can be flexible. but yeah - depending on how well layered an organization is, this may or may not be true.

Sure, but when the market is working well, businesses can price expertise correctly. What I'm seeing now is that expertise is *wildly* under-valued and businesses are instead *lowering their sights* to match the skills of full-stackers.
