A more defensible statement might be "folks who use libraries that lock users in & break interop don't use WC"

But even that isn't true. We are on track to have many thousands of apps built using Ionic React. Then you'll legitimately be able to say that a big chunk of React users are using Web Components

6% of page loads hardly falsifies the claim that most people don’t use WCs.

6% of pageloads means it's one of the most successful web platform APIs ever. Distribution could be highly concentrated, but the scale of the population being measured is *immense*.
