How is it 2020 and React still lacks basic component interop? https://custom-elements-everywhere.com/libraries/react/results/results.html …https://twitter.com/slightlylate/status/1241450302957477890 …

React is uniquely deficient in this regard -- even Angular does it right! -- and there's literally no good reason for it.

We hear you: https://github.com/mfreed7/declarative-shadow-dom … To answer the question directly: we had to wait for Mozilla and MSFT to catch up before new proposals could start again in earnest. Still grumpy about the lost time.

Because React hasn’t had a breaking release in 2.5 years (which this support requires), and because most people don’t use web components.

Not trying to be cheeky, BTW. FB builds stuff that FB needs. If they needed great interop w web components, they'd have done it by now.

Website made by a googler where all google-baked frameworks have the most perfect score. Why the rest of the world would even care about this page?

Polymer (a Google library) doesn't have a perfect score, and all this site does is run pretty vanilla tests against the web component spec...
