You can find other known PWAs to try this from via http://appsco.pe and http://pwa-directory.appspot.com . Sites that meet the criteria shouldn't generate those sorts of shortcuts but should, instead, end you up with Android apps that you can find in the "all apps" list.
ok, i was talking to a friend about lacking PWAs to try so this is a great list! would it make sense for Chrome to do more to tell me if something is a Verifiable PWA? because having to Add to Home Screen and then find out if it is a PWA or a Shortcut doesn't feel optimal.
yes, they install w/o Chrome icon. OK I think I get it now - "Add to Home Screen" is overloaded for both PWAs and Chrome shortcuts, I have no way to know until after I install, and when I uninstall the shortcuts don't know that they are shortcuts and so uninstall Chrome itself?
