Tech, in reasonable balance with society, is about the people we serve with it. On the web, JS is what's between you and serving people better. Insisting that a lot of JS is OK isn't cool; it only outs you as entitled.

Literally had couple days ago had a conversation with a dev claiming that 30s tti on desktop is ok (worse on mobile, ofc). And that is fits into "performance budgets" of both users and giant businesses.

Also, 3mb JS (minified+gzip) is great. If I'm not mistaken: "we knew all the optimizations and how optimizations would affect metrics and there was no need to optimize further". It was a thread about how React is fine and doesn't hurt web dev.
