My prediction is that the (worldwide) 75th percentile device for Q2'2021 will be an 8-core (~2Ghz A53s) w/ 2-3GB of RAM. It was sold sometime in late 2018 or early 2019. The specs on this device look shockingly like the Moto G4 I started recommending for testing in 2016.

The TL:DR is that we still can't afford the JS payloads that have become common. If you're using a framework that lets you SSR, do that, but then *turn off sending the <script> to the client* (a.k.a. "RedactJS"), ala:https://www.gatsbyjs.org/packages/gatsby-plugin-no-javascript/ …

Will include in an update later this year. Most Samsung flagships are actually multiple SKUs: one for US based on Qualcomm chip & one for ROW that's Exynos-based, so don't always line up 1:1.

Still, my impression is that my 2016 mid-low tier phone, which apparently matches a 2012-13 fruitphone, is still performing well (Skype being the exception). So lots of developers are getting it right.

I iterated on this a bit and added it to Perfume.js.
I wonder what your Android phone will say?!?
