What goes unsaid in the article is that this entire remediation journey was preventable. Avoiding React + heavy JS dependencies & JS-driven animation wouldn't have lost them the revenue in the first place. At this late date it's hard to have sympathy for, or get excited by, businesses marginally unfucking their sales channels. I've seen what these stacks do to public services -- folks *without* teams to run these analyses -- and the layers of heartbreak are just too much.
