We've all been trying for decades. This was what 4GLs were supposed to be. For the most part, the closest we've gotten is Excel.

The native-app thing is big for some people and some use cases. BUT this does create an interesting question: can you use React Native in Glitch to make forkable native apps? All I can find is this https://glitch.com/~react-native which doesn't seem there, but maybe doable?

Then again if "easy deployment" is the top priority then feels like it's really hard to make the case for doing native at all. Web sites! A great devops strategy.

I made my "app" a progressive web app but my users keep asking me when I'm gonna have a "real app" :(

Lots of users are looking in app stores for PWAs. The answer (for Android) is Trusted Web Activities and llama-pack: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2019/02/using-twa … https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/llama-pack …
