Alex, this seems like an insensitive comparison to be making.
I deleted the original, however: 1.) was commenting on similarity re: the paucity of response, not equating the events. I get how that nuance gets lost. 2.) don't think most folks have internalised how f'd the web is at current trajectory. It's really, *really* bad.

JS is, on the one hand, gorging itself on CPU and network at levels that can only plausibly work for the richest. This is a primary contributor to web ecosystem collapse. When the web ecosystem collapses, JS will too. There's no independent, viable JS ecosystem w/o the web.
