2015: Had our second kid. Wound up serving as impromptu training track organizer for JSConf US, putting together an amazing group of people to teach others about all sorts of JS things. More PPD. Started working at DigitalOcean.

Oh, another addendum that breaks the rule but whatever: 2015 is the year I changed my last name from Arnold to Sinclair. Took my wife's last name after we got tired of mine. This was a big enough change for its own tweet.

2016: Talk at EmpireJS. Went to New York a handful of times for work. Started developing some friendships with people in NYC through the JS community. Reconnected with high school friends who live there now.

More 2016: My second kid got RSV. First 911 call for him. He also got diagnosed with a fuckin' truckload of life-threatening food allergies. Truly a life-altering year on that front, one that really amped up anxiety, stress, and depression in new ways.

2017: Ran a workshop at DinosaurJS. More trips to NYC. Trips to Denver to take care of my kid's allergies because this state doesn't have good pediatric allergy treatments. Some other big personal shifts. Second finally started sleeping through the night.

2018: Personal things that were a couple amazing highs and some really fuckin' deep lows. First year as staff at JSConf US, which was one of the highs. Forever grateful for that. Kid's allergies cut to just peanut, thankfully.

2019: More personal shit that won't be on main. Made some major painful breakthroughs in therapy. A couple more ridiculous highs, some huge lows. Got to be in another internet-turned-best-friend friend's wedding.

More 2019: Turned 40, I guess that's a thing of note. My wife put on an amazing party for me, including having some of my best friends come into town, and just -- it was a very special day, one I'll never forget.

It's been a wild decade full of some huge highs, some really miserable lows, and just about everything possible in-between. 2020 kicks off here in about seven minutes. I know it contains yet another life-altering event on January 17th already.

Here's hoping 2020 isn't a third year in a row that's like 90% painful bullshit. I'm not feeling too optimistic about that, but still, maybe a touch hopeful. Maybe. Happy New Year, y'all.
