IMO creating a simple function wrapper to window.fetch is just find for frontend GraphQL client. It's extremely simple, and I don't think caching solves more problems than it causes (which is one of the main reasons to invest in a GraphQL client). For my use cases at least

fetch() ? What I suspect is costly in libs are that they add caching, and possibly (in relay) batching infrastructure. If you don't need them, then it's just an HTTP GET or POST.
