We do index the light DOM; it gets distributed through the flattened tree. Folks dont' grok the difference, tho. What I'm tryign to get at is "we index what you'd see in devtools" or similar. And recommending SSR is...ugh.

Well, there's still crawlers that don't run JS and/or don't support web components. And then there's the two waves situation. And if you don't have a slot, the light DOM gets overwritten. But we encourage people to use light DOM. Ahhhhhhhh.

I think that whole light dom thing is a red herring. If you have something in the Dom and then take it out it doesn't get indexed. Has nothing to do with slots and slots aren't the only way to fix it (the example literally doesn't use a slot).
