*1st. At some level, saying "wealthy users have better hardware" is a tautology. Web ecosystem hasn't responded to new mobile reality, in part, because the JS-first crew is busy inventing new excuses for why they shouldn't have to adapt.

And when the HW is Apple-fast, they're largely right! So we (as a community) have kept right on trucking with approaches that serve only the wealthy. Retreating into privilege is as easy as it is predictable.

Biggest inconsistency right now is the absolutely terrible "fullscreen" browser view Safari introduced, and varying implementations of it across Chrome/Firefox/Edge.
