The reason to fight for a web worth wanting is that we have a _better model_. If we don't drown experiences in script and slowness, the web can improve the overall experience of computing for billions.https://twitter.com/slightlylate/status/1189235361811181568 …

I recently saw a pop-up on a booking site that said: "A fee of $5 will be applied to each reward night you redeem. There's no fee if you redeem on our app!" Businesses don't always see the web as a _better model_. And less scripts isn't going to change that.

Right, which is why we built out PWAs and Trusted Web Activities. We should be able to divorce the lust for re-engagement from web vs. native tech choice; everyone can win then.

PWAs are a great solution for this, but the native app lust is real. I'm concerned that PWAs are not going to turn the tide alone.

I'm concerned that Apple has so completely tainted the ecosystem through App Store restrictions and WebKit underinvestment, and TWAs are so late for Play, that it might be ge over for the web. Data trending in the wrong direction.
