1. System Design vs Implementation. Which one do you think is more interesting and how much time (in a week) do you spend doing these things? 2. Do you also focus on the non-tech aspects (Design / Marketing) of the product (even a bit) ? 3. In general how is the WLB at G?

1.) I spend a lot more time on design these days. Sadly not as much time as I spend in meetings, tho. 2.) I work on a platform rather than a product, but design is massively important for our work, particularly around privacy and permissions. 3.) WLB?

So now you’re writing code that first requires 5.8mb of JavaScript to load and execute? That’s going to be horrible for mobile performance.

The screenshot of the graphs will absolutely be smaller.

Some days I write 2-5 lines of code and feel really bad about it (because I’m in meetings/doing research/writing documentation). Do you have advice on how to not feel bad about this and also how to explain the situation to management that doesn’t code?

Having a better thesis about *why* to write code or how to build something a particular way is, in my experience, at least as valuable than the code/tests.

My question is how do you cope with having to work on really boring projects? Some of my projects are interesting and some are incredibly boring and then I get frustrated.
-
I do boring work on exciting projects, which makes me very lucky.

How much do you rely on pivot tables and does XLOOKUP upset you or make you thrilled. Also how do you live life using VBA?
-
Google Apps Script is totally not VBA* *it’s absolutely JavaScript-flavoured VBA
