I hate to say this, but it's not an "excuse", it's a compelling reason to abandon something that's fundamentally not working. Web developers are on the hook for this ecosystem collapse.

Not sure it’s fair to entirely blame the devs + JS problem. In parallel, ‘we’ totally dropped the ball on providing reasonable alternatives to FB/IG/TW etc for mobile-optimized chat, link sharing, and day to day personal expression with built in subscription and pseudo-identity.
