Please explain the meaning "React integrates poorly with DOM". Use simple explanation if possible, because I'm not a library developer and didn't face fundamental issues with regards to the subject.

React doesn't use DOM's event system -- it includes a duplicate system, I presume put there to work around legacy browsers -- and React components can't be managed via their DOM nodes like Web Components can. React builds a parallel object tree which is incidentally totalising.

Is there any document, blog, or video that describes the issues with React and how web components are better at overcoming those concerns? I'd like to be more well versed on the subject.
