I spend a lot of time thinking about tech culture, the firms, and the people involved. One of the things that we all need to bear in mind is that great people in shitty systems do shitty things and it's sometimes *not individual moral failure*. At least not locally.

i agree but also. tech jobs are rarely minimum/wage last resort in the same way those examples are, and that logic would let off endless bad behaviour in politics/media/banking etc

the more meaningful thing imo is what the individual *does* in those situations. all organisations are a dialogue, and if you’re shifting the outcome of that dialogue to be less bad than it would be otherwise, then
