Btw this is really interesting to me: - tacos in that place are burrito - back in Middle East some shops had “fajita” “sandwich” — it was not fajita and the bread was a steak roll. - in Redmond, my shawarma came in tortilla bread. - falafel here comes in Greek pita.

Shaorma is an alternate transileration for "shwarma". Shwarma, although it sounds alike, surpisingly does not come from "sarma". colloquial Arabic šāwirma, has been borrowed from Turkish çevirme which means ‘sliced meat roasted on a spit’ from the root çevirmek ‘turn, rotate’.

That is the Romanian spelling for shawarma. The whole restaurant looks Romanian as the menu is in Romanian as well
