I should note, for the record, that I'm *not* making relative claims about Android. Nobody in their right minds would. Client OSes still need mediation, and getting to that point requires more humility from everyone...and better browsers handling more user computing.

You could say "oh, but browsers are how this attack happened!" and you'd be right, but only in an instantaneous sense. Browsers are the sort of defense in depth that client OSes need *more* of, and iOS *in particular* needs browser engine diversity and competition.

Speaking of....Google never makes it clear if this security hole is specific to iOS or not. Yes, they say they found it was used on iPhones, but that’s the flip side of what you’re criticizing Apple for. Did they ever say?
