Here's a niche gripe: So, there's a strain of political thought that "proprietary communities" should produce good government. One example of a proprietary community is an HOA. But, and I don't have stats on this... doesn't everyone hate their HOA?

Aren't they frequently captured by the interests of the founders (builders) anyhow? Seems instructive in taking these sorts of arguments at face value.
