Agree for sure, with that caveat that, as I'm sure you know, your typical web app will have a very different marginal end user compared to Google / YouTube.

In real, there are millions of people on old devices. iOS 7. Chrome 20, etc. And that isn’t Africa or something. Maybe in US everyone can afford to buy new phone every year, but that certainly isn’t the case for other places. So when you build only for modern, millions suffer
