Chrome 76 on Android
@nytimes is still able to detect that I'm in incognito mode. Does anyone know how it's detecting it? I thought chrome removed the option.

We’ve tried to remove some of the usual paths (e.g., file system, disable APIs), but not shocked if we haven’t gotten them all.

The team that owns this is in the process of identifying and removing the detectable surfaces, but it takes time and effort. That stated, I would like to reiterate the importance of subscribing to and paying for the news sites you visit—particularly for local news.

+1 I have a NYTimes subscription, but I was particularly curious to test if the incognito mode was no longer detectable. Is there a place to follow what additional surfaces are being detected?
